Welcome to The Fayette Cooperating Nursery School and Kindergarten (commonly known as Co-op). We are located in Lexington, Ky. Co-op is a non-profit, non-discriminatory, independent educational institution established in 1951, licensed by the Cabinet for Health and Family Services and accredited by the NAEYC.

We offer an exceptional first-school experience for young children and a unique program that nurtures parents as well. The foundation of our program is direct parent involvement, and we are the only parent-teacher cooperative school in Central Kentucky.

In addition to a qualified teacher and a teacher's aide, two or three parents assist in the classroom each day on a rotating schedule. This provides an excellent adult/child ratio in each of these programs offered - 1:3 for Two year-olds, 1:4 for Preschool and Pre-K, and 1:6 for Kindergarten.

Parents choose their classroom workdays at the beginning of each work period, and we try to accommodate each parent's personal schedules. How often you work depends on how often your child attends, and all parents receive training before working in the classroom. Parents are also asked to volunteer in various other ways throughout the school year.
