Common Questions about Amazon.com's Associates Program

What can I purchase and earn the school money?

Right now we have a list of parenting books as well as banners for Amazon.com’s toy sections. The linked books and linked toys will earn us 4% to 7.5%, depending on the total number of items shipped to buyers, plus premiums of up to 2.5% for direct product links. NOTE: We will be adding more parenting books, children’s books and recommended toys very soon!

We will also receive referral fees for other items purchased during the same visit by customers who have been directed to Amazon.com via one of our site links.

We can earn a maximum of $25 in referral fees on personal computers. For all other product groups, referral fees are unlimited. Please note that Amazon.com does not pay referral fees on sales of gift certificates, Auctions and zShops items, or items from any external site to which Amazon.com links, e.g., CarsDirect.com.

How long do visitors have to add an item to their Shopping Cart after clicking on one of our Amazon links until we no longer earn a referral fee on their purchase?

We earn referral fees on any qualifying items placed in a customer's Shopping Cart within 24 hours of their arrival at Amazon.com via the Associates link on our site. However, this 24-hour window closes once the customer submits his order or reenters Amazon.com through another Associate's link. Once the window is closed, we will not earn referral fees on any subsequent purchases. However, if the customer then returns to Amazon.com through one of our Associates links, this opens a new 24-hour window.

It is of course possible that a customer may arrive at Amazon.com via our Associates link, add an item to his Shopping Cart, and then leave Amazon.com without placing an order. As long as the item was added to the customer's Shopping Cart during this 24-hour window, we will still earn a referral fee if the order is placed before the Shopping Cart expires (usually after 90 days). The referral fee will not be credited to our Associates account until the customer has purchased the item, accepted delivery, and remitted full payment to Amazon.com.

How much money does Co-op earn?

Our referral rate will be based on our total number of shipped items from both Amazon and third-party sellers. The same rate will apply equally to both Amazon and third-party items, and will apply to all referred items shipped during the quarter. Please refer to the Referral Rate Tier Chart below for additional detail.
